Formula I in Singapore
W...e...l...l.... I am opening my blog with a remark about a 4.9 billion $ industry. It is a great feeling to be in Singapore when this tiny little country managed to pull off a World's first in this sport. It is the World's first ever Night Race.
To be honest, I wasnt much enamoured when the news first came about SGP hosting a F1 race for the 1st time. But, as the time flew past & I started reading more & more about it, I suddenly realised one day, Óh, my god, F1 is just a 10 days away'..!! Alas, there were no more tickets to be had..
Hope I wont make a similar mistake with the YOG. I want to book tickets the 1st day it opens to public...
But, I must admit I am disappointed a bit with the 1st night's coverage of the practice runs... I was more impressed with the way the SGP authorities had transformed a normal public road into a world standrad racetrack by night... than with the actual coverage of the races/racecars. I feel the camera is kept too close to the cars, so close that it sometimes feels like u r playing a racing game at a video parlour, rather than feel the sheer thrill of the live races.. Hope the camera coverage improves over the next few days & gives us more wide angle & long view glimpses of different stretches of the tracks.
Okie dokie.... HAve fun @ FormulaOne..!! Good night ....
